Unit 4: It』s warm today.
1.Objective:
Students learn to ask about and describe the weather in thislesson
2.Vocabulary
Review: cold, cool, warm, hot, sunny, cloudy, windy, rainy,stormy, snowy, weather
Extension: wet, thunder, lightening, stormy, overcast,drizzling, sandstorm, hot, cold, warm, cool, freezing
3.Expressions:How』s the weather in New York today? /What』s the weather like in New Yorktoday?
4.Knowledge:major cities in the world
Period 1
1. Warm-up (5-10 mins)
Revision on daily activity, time, and verbs
老師隨便給出一個時間e.g. 7:00, 第一位同學說出自己在這個時間做什麼e.g I get up at 7:00.
下一位同學要用第三人稱說出上位同學說什麼,然後老師再給這位同學一個時間讓她/他說自己做什麼,如此繼續一輪
(get up, have breakfast, go to school, have English class,have lunch, go home, have dinner, watch TV, do homework, go to bed)
【Flash cards-time】
可以用flashcard如果學生在第三人稱轉換的時候還是有問題,應該停下來跟學生鞏固一下第三人稱動詞變化:
- 規則變化+s
-s,z,ch,sh +es讀做/iz/
- 不規則變化的詞do, go, have (does, goes, has)
2.Vocabulary:weather (10-15 mins)
選幾位同學到台上來按照flashcards畫出天氣,同時請其它同學翻開Unit4的生詞表,猜猜這些都是什麼詞。然後把這些詞寫下來,與學生一起鞏固複習幾遍發音、拼寫(sunny, cloudy, windy, snowy, rainy,cloudy)

Worksheet- What』s the weather like】因為學生已經學過weather的內容,這時候也可以把worksheet發下去給學生做
3.–y的發音 (15 mins)
-先跟學生一起看上述單詞里y的發音
-y(除了與ay, ey組合時以外)一般有兩種發音,長的i/ai/,和短的 e /i:/
-發短e時除了sunny等天氣詞以外,還有: honey, many, very, 讓學生再想幾個(thirty, Marry, carry, body, candy)
-髮長i時有:bye, why等,讓學生想幾個(July, shy, buy, try, fly, sky)
-鞏固複習下這幾個詞的發音,讀或寫一個出來讓學生讀出y的發音
(這裡可以不用音標,因為i和e都可以用字母本身的發音解釋)

Period 2
1.Warm-up (5 minutes)
Acting game:請一位學生上台來表演各種天氣,讓台下的同學猜。如果大家掌握的情況不是很好可以多玩幾輪。(如果學生掌握的情況不錯的話,可以擴展幾個詞再玩幾次並擴展以下詞彙:wet, thunder, lightening, stormy, overcast, drizzling,sandstorm, hot, cold, warm, cool, freezing
2.學習句型 (20 – 25 minutes)
How』s the weather today?
-學習 How』s the weather today?/What』s the weather like today?
-學習句型: It』s ______ today/tomorrow/the day after tomorrow/
-複習today, tomorrow, the day aftertomorrow, on Monday, next Monday
擴展:It』s _____ in _____ today.
-可以介紹幾個世界上主要的城市:New York, London, Paris, Sydney,Tokyo, Seoul (給學生看幾張這幾個城市的照片或者明信片)
(- 教句型的時候注意請學生在自己的筆記本上抄下句子。
- 注意weather的讀音,ea的發音跟sweater里是一樣的(還有bread,steady, treasure, measure, thread。Ea有多種發音,這只是其中的一種,以後遇到不同發音的時候再擴展)
3.Drill(10-15 mins)
- It』s _____ today, I wear____
先全班一起練,複習什麼天氣穿什麼衣服。
然後分pair抽取天氣卡,練完一張與身邊的小組交換天氣卡繼續練

複習這節課的詞彙和句型
