Facilities/Room:
- One clean room. If possible, it would be great to have mirrors in the room.
- One sound system. (I will be providing the sound system myself.)
Outfit: Sportswear. Children can dance with no shoes or with ballet shoes.
Length: 9 weeks.
Objective for the class:
- Teach the children the basic techniques in contemporary dance which are very close to ballet basic techniques.
- Give them the opportunity to dance and enjoy themselves with music, on their own and as a group.
- Help them gain in self-confidence by developing a harmonious relationship with their own bodies.
- Give them a very simple and creative means to express themselves through the learning of a new form of art (i.e. contemporary dance) and group creation related games.
- Give them a chance to show their families the work they have accomplished during the whole course of the classes.
Program week by week:
- Week 1: Learning of basic techniques.
We will focus on learning and practicing ballet basic positions through basic exercises with music.
- Week 2: Learning of basic techniques.
We will in-depth review and practice the ballet positions we learnt the previous week and focus on learning different types of spins and jumps through a small piece of choreography with music.
- Week 3: Learning of basic techniques.
We will in-depth review and practice the basic techniques learnt the previous weeks through a small piece of choreography with music.
- Week 4: Basic techniques and introduction to choreography.
We will watch some short videos of contemporary dance choreographies. Then, we will use the basic techniques we learnt the previous weeks and the creations we just watched in order to create one small piece of choreography in small groups. The children will be encouraged to create their own piece of choreography (with music) together within these small groups.
- Week 5: Basic techniques and choreography.
We will work on the choreographies we created the previous week and focus on ways to improve them on a technical, motional and esthetic standpoint. The children will be encouraged to tell a story through their choreographies or give it a sense according to their own ideas.
- Week 6: Choreography and improvisation.
We will work on the choreographies we created the previous week and focus on ways to improve them by changing the music, the rhythm and speed, by adding some solos and/or group movement.
The children will be encouraged to imagine how these choreographies could be performed all together as a show.
- Week 7: Performing.
We will polish the choreographies we created the previous week and perform them in front of each group within the class. The children will be encouraged to talk about their impression, feelings, understanding of the choreographies created by the others. We will focus on listening to each other and discuss our opinions on the choreographies and get ready for the show.
- Week 8: “Rehearsal”.
We will focus on polishing the show by practicing the choreographies and work on costumes for the performance.
- Week 9: “Performance day”.
We will perform the choreographies we worked on during the whole course of the classes in front of a small group of people (such as parents, relatives or friends) with costumes and music.

每周計劃:
- 第一周:學習基本動作
隨着音樂,學習並且練習芭蕾舞的基本姿勢。
- 第二周:學習基本動作
首先,系統的複習和練習上周所學習的動作。然後,通過一小段舞蹈,來學習幾種不同的旋轉和跳躍。
- 第三周:學習基本動作
通過一段音樂伴舞,來深入的複習前幾次課所學的基本動作。
- 第四周:基本技術和舞台舞蹈的介紹
我們會先看一些現代舞台舞蹈的短片。然後分成小組,運用以前所學的基本動作和剛剛看到的表演,去創造一個自己的短舞。我們鼓勵孩子們在這段小組舞蹈中使用任何自己獨有的動作。
- 第五周:基本動作和舞台舞蹈
主要工作是從技術,感情和感覺等方面着手,完善上周我們所創作的舞蹈。鼓勵孩子們根據他們的舞蹈來講一個故事,或者是說說自己的想法,感覺。
- 第六周:舞台舞蹈和即席創作
我們繼續完善我們前面所創作的舞蹈,這次我們會改變伴奏音樂,節奏和速度,並加上一些獨舞或者小組動作。鼓勵孩子們想象如何把這些舞蹈組合在一起成為一個表演。
- 第七周:表演
進一步完善前面所創作的舞蹈,並在課堂上讓每個小組都有機會在全班面前表演本組的舞蹈。鼓勵孩子們討論他們看完其他小組表演之後的印象,感覺和理解。聽取別人的意見,互相討論彼此的觀點,為表演做好準備。
- 第八周:排練
排練舞蹈,準備服裝,做最後的完善工作。
- 第九周:表演
我們可以在上課時間,為孩子們的父母,親戚,朋友,送上我們的表演。
